How to pay for divorce? Helen Baker & Shannon Daykin

Fri 10:00am 20 Jul 2018
Podcast Audio

When it comes time to it, knowing how to pay for a divorce isn't easy. The circumstances vary and there will be so much advice that will be thrown at you even when you don't want it. When it comes to financial considerations, Shannon and Helen suggest you must arm yourself with the best advice before the fact as much as possible. Preparation is key, and seek advice from both a qualified legal advisor and financial planner.

Shannon Daykin explains that in her years of experience as a legal practitioner, it's important to know your obligations and your next steps. Understand the elements of how decisions will be made, and the only way you can really do this is by asking more questions.

Helen Baker explains that you must have these transparent conversations about what's worth fighting for, what's best to keep and what's not going to matter in 5 years time.

In amongst the financial considerations, is the emotional burden that is carried by all parties involved in the proceeding. This may result in clouded judgment, brash decision making, and often times neglecting the most vulnerable of parties to the matter - the children.

In such a difficult time, it's important to have the right advice in your corner. Chat with Shannon Daykin of Daykin Family Law today by Google searching "Daykin Family Law" and by chatting with Helen Baker of On Your Own Two Feet (www.onyourowntwofeet.com.au).
