Thu 07 Jun 2018

eCentral Business Show has made the finalists list for the "Best Use of Linkedin" at the Australian Social Media Marketing Awards 2018. The next step is the awards night mid-August at Rydges World Square, Sydney.

This is great news as we continue to get fantastic feedback and enjoy the growth of our following with just under 20k connections Linkedin connections as at today.

While Linkedin is our focused outlet channel for the show, we also distribute every episodes to YouTube, Facebook, eCentral web site, Twitter and Google+ along with 100+ media PR contacts.

On the eCentral Business Show we most value our "resident experts" where just one hour of their time creates 4 or 5 episodes around their field of expertise in a single sitting. They then get to go about their month with no worry about their social media. It's our job to distribute the videos and ensure they are watched.

Being a "resident expert" is incredibly easy and includes a category exclusive, high impact, authentic means to connect, grow your brand and attract more business. For more information about being a resident expert, call John Nayler 0407 15 13 11.

Are you Queensland's Best new business?

Mon 23 Jul 2018

Franchises have been regarded for some time now, as a way for an individual to become a business person overnight. The benefits are supposed to include a profitable business system, marketing as a group, and a ready-made customer base knocking at your door. Sounds like a dream right? For some it is - so why the growing disquiet?

Unfortunately, once you sign on the dotted line you are committed lock, stock and home, PLUS you might have just bought yourself the worst job in the world.

With little option, the unwitting have a minimal chance of escape and in the worst cases have invested life savings on a bad deal.

For the entrepreneurial minded, one would say that it is far less a risk to take a sheet of paper, list the problems you can see in the world and write down the ways to solve them. If you are creative and open-minded, you are sure to find an opportunity that is untapped, profitable and something that you could be passionate about. Interviewing Mike O'Hagan, founder of Mini-Movers in 2017 disclosed that was exactly his process. Mini Movers is now a notable national brand and he would probably say that it came with little risk. After all, if you missed the mark and the new venture went sideways, it might well be that you have only outlayed a small investment. It's then time to rinse and repeat having learned the lesson. Such is the entrepreneurial cycle.

Are you using mobile payments? The end game for big business.

Sun 08 Jul 2018

Don't get me wrong, I love using Google Pay. To be honest, I am not even sure where my physical credit card is these days.

If you are like me though, you are now one of the 25%^ of people in Australia using Apple Pay or Google Pay (as smartphone preference dictates). Why does big tech want to offer this service?

The truth below the surface of this convenience is that the biggest companies in the world want to further enshrine their intimate knowledge of "you" by knowing your spending. Elsewhere the digital industry predicts that In the future they are likely to want to offer credit services and have their own banking system. One further step and you can see that they would also like their own currency. Apple "coin" here we come.

Voice home speaker USA

Let the voice be with you

Mon 02 Jul 2018

The race Is on in major tech to determine who dominates voice recognition. Apple asserted themselves early in the game with half-baked Siri. She sounded great at Apple's keynote release and the crowd went wild, but in reality, that presentation would have been canned. Year's later, none of my drawling or otherwise Aussie friends use Siri regularly.

Over on the Android platform we are enjoying levels of speech recognition rated as "way-cool". I am one of a growing number of people that regularly answer emails, send texts, writes content, oops speaks content and blogs using Google's voice recognition. Google assistant is also understanding commands extremely well for activities such as opening apps, "navigate too ..", "set an alarm for 5am Wednesday morning", etc. It was back in May 2017 that at Google IO it was announced that Google Voice recognition was down to 5% errors. Put in relatable terms, that is one word wrong in 20. Some of my friends can't manage that rate of comprehension! Google's voice recognition is otherwise embedded in Google Search, Docs, a plugin for Chrome, and Google's "Home" device.

So who is winning the race for voice globally?

What business leaders have to say about eCentral

"... to a site that is user friendly, produces fantastic results"

We have been working with eCentral for over a year now ...and will continue to use his services indefinitely due the complete satisfaction we have in this arrangement. They have taken us from a web site that was hard to manage and invisible to a site that is user friendly, produces fantastic results in terms of direct business...they have placed us into top 5 positions ...and I can now see the steps they took to grow our understanding, knowledge and then take the steps to grow our online success. Can't recommend them highly enough.

You might ask, why do John's web designs work so well?

No matter how clever in an IT sense web developers may be, if they don’t understand the basic principle that web sites are a business’s window to the world and should convert information into revenue, they aren’t of much value. For these reasons, I have immense respect for John Nayler and his knowledge and skills and highly recommend him to anyone who may be thinking of engaging his services.

eCentral consistently delivered software systems that sustained our growth and the need for bespoke software to support the business model.

The simplicity of the systems and software enabled staff to proceed with minimal training while delivering reports integral to the management of the business. By the time the systems were built, eCentral had gone on to construct a Trust Accounting System which was fully integrated with the rest of the application set streamlining our workflow significantly and providing substantial cost saving due to efficient work processes. For an IT consultant, John has a unique capacity to interrogate the processes within the business and understand the business drivers. His solutions were always with our specific business outcomes in mind. I have, in over 40 years in business, found this to be a very rare combination. I highly recommend the software development capabilities of John Nayler and eCentral.
