Speaking with inclusion - Greg Pritchard on the eCentral Business Show

Speaking with inclusion means speaking with intention. Every conversation you have has a purpose, whether you're trying to convey meaning or understand something new. These conversations can also develop a connection between the people present, and this connection can be an essential aspect of any business relationship.  Greg Pritchard breaks down what it means to speak with inclusion, and he highlights some of the ways we sometimes fail to do so.

Any time you interact with someone, you have an opportunity to develop your relationship with that person by speaking with inclusion. By including the person and what they have said in your responses, you can establish a strong foundation for any future business dealings you may have with them.

However, when you fail to speak with inclusion, you miss out on the opportunity to develop these connections. Sometimes, you may feel as though you are merely waiting for the other person to finish talking so you can continue telling your own story. When this occurs, it is perhaps best that you step back and reconsider how to speak while including your conversational partner.

It is also important that what you say relates to more than just the last thing said to you. Otherwise, conversations can quickly turn into a 'one-up' competition, no connection is made, and no relationship is developed. In these conversations, you have neither spoken with inclusion nor intention. Thankfully, you can always take a breath and refresh yourself, creating an opportunity to once more speak with inclusion.

The connection between the people involved remains one of the most important aspects of any business relationship. When you speak with inclusion, you can build this connection, as explained by Greg Pritchard from LeadnEdge Consulting.
